Medica 2022, Dusseldorf
Rick Bhatt, Head of Business Development, GeneFirst
Medica was an excellent opportunity to learn more about medical and healthcare innovations and interact with like-minded individuals in the industry. Several keynote speakers provided valuable insights into the latest trends and developments. In addition, attendees had the chance to explore and interact with the products, gain valuable insights into the industry, and connect with other healthcare individuals.
Medica is well worth attending, and there were more than 15 halls jam-packed with stands, Medical, Diagnostic, Health and Scientific related. Other exhibitors were incredibly inspiring and gave us invaluable insights into how others in the industry use medical technology. In addition, we had some fascinating discussions with distributors, pharmaceutical companies, medical device developers and clinicians from at least 30 different countries.
We also had the pleasure of connecting with significant new business contacts and renewing relationships with old friends.
The support from GAMBICA, who organised the event, was phenomenal, and the staff at the venue were incredibly helpful and accommodating for the management of the UK Pavilion. As a result, the Medica event will offer an excellent platform for healthcare professionals to use again next year to discuss relevant topics, increase industry knowledge and develop new alliances.
One of our standout highlights was presenting our key NGS technology ATOM-Seq for cancer panels and fusion detection. The team presented these solutions alongside our Multiplex Probe Amplification technology (MPA) which allows the simultaneous detection and differentiation of all high-risk HPV genotypes. Having worked hard on each of our technologies, we were delighted to receive an insightful and positive response.
An additional treat was our French distribution partner PrimaDiag joining us on our stand for the first two days. So, we shared a few good glasses of German beer and had the pleasure of having their experts present their liquid handling automation, the ACSIA, which we use to automate our kits and products.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the prestigious event and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great environment to share new ideas, make contacts and exchange knowledge with specialists from all over the nation.
